A customer operating a plasma cutter for stainless steel mesh faced a major issue: there was no hooding or dust containment, and the air needed to be safely returned to the workplace. The initial budget allowed only for a basic portable unit, which lacked the airflow and filtration required for proper air quality control.

Kogi Environmental Solutions, led by Dave Stroze, collaborated with the customer—who had in-house sheet metal fabrication capabilities—to co-design a custom extraction hood. This allowed for better allocation of the budget toward a continuous-duty, self-cleaning dust collector fitted with HEPA filters, enabling safe air recirculation.

The result: complete capture and containment of stainless steel dust, full customer satisfaction, and a follow-up order for a larger dust collection system.
